If you’re going to spend any time doing something you should invest yourself into it and perform to the best of your abilities.

Expect a lot of yourself and of those that you work with regardless of roles.

Be proud of what you do and strive to be the best at what it is. If you use me as an example I have had absolutely no fallback plan in my life, nothing handed to me. However by following these ethos and consistently striving to improve myself I am responsible for developing a World Class production management system providing exceptional deliver, quality, and cost.
