On March 15th Chris Duffin will be making an attempt at the heaviest weight sumo deadlifted in one minute. The attempt will be made at Elite Performance Center in Portland Oregon. The current record is held by Walter Urban of Canada which was set in September of 2012.
This record attempt is being coordinated to celebrate the opening of Elite Performance Center’s new location. Chris is a champion power lifter and Co-Owner of Elite Performance Center. The event will be open to the public and the media and will also coincide with a “Bros V Pros” deadlift competition that will be hosted at Elite Performance Center that day.

A new chapter for Elite Performance Center
Since its inception EPC has grown organically but we feel it is time for us to take it to the next level. We are about to sign a lease on an 8,800 square foot facility with a great location at 14350 SE Industrial Way, Clackamas, OR 97015. Members will see:
Limited operations begin January 1st in our new space.
We will be making some physical improvements to the space including a new controlled-access key system and adding a shower and urinal which will cause us to have to “work around” these construction projects until complete. We are excited to have everyone be a part of this new Chapter at EPC. At EPC we are committed to providing the environment and tools to bring the highest quality strength and conditioning training to the Portland Metro area.
Thanks for everyone’s support! We wish everyone a very Happy Holiday and look forward to a Successful and Productive New Year for you and EPC!

The APA state records have been updated as of 9/28/13. Multiple State records were set at the recent meet.
In addition the APF state records were also loaded on the website which include results from our 6/22/13 meet.
The Oregon All-Time record list was also recompiled which sums the APA, APF, WABDL, & USPF records. These federations have been the primarily active federations in Oregon. Next year we will add the USPLA as they have held several meets in Oregon at this time. If you have set an Oregon All-Time record that isn't on the list please email [email protected] with a link to the record.

APA Fall Classic Entry
In an attempt to get more organized and focused on my training I have decided I had better get back to practicing what I preach and writing a training plan. I usually have the outline over several months in my head involving frequency, conditioning levels, intensity, and weights.... however it gets a little hard to stay on track when you also coaching a bunch of people in the process.
I figured it would be good to share my outline with the team to help spur thoughts on your own programs. Understand this is a very basic “outline” and doesn’t detail what I will be doing with weights, associated volume, and intensity.
As you can see I’m doing very little focused conditioning at the moment as has been present in many of my past programs. I will by attempting to incorporate conditioning into some of the prehab items such as bear crawls and TGU’s, but realistically it is not a focus of mine right now.
I will be keeping my training programs posted under our Article’s & Video’s tab with the exact link of Duffin’s most recent training Outline
